Introduction to Mountaineering Weekend - Alphubel 4206m (Valais)
Join this unforgettable 2-day mountaineering adventure and climb a 4206-meter alpine giant: the Alphubel.
Rising high above the valleys of Zermatt and Saas in the heart of Valais, the Alphubel is the ideal objective for those looking to take their first real step into mountaineering. With a route that’s not overly technical, gorgeous panoramic views of all the surrounding 4000ers, and a summit that delivers a powerful sense of accomplishment, this weekend promises an experience you won’t forget.
This trip is led by Guy-Robert May, international mountain guide.
Saturday
You meet Guy-Robert in Täsch at 13:00, and get a ride to Täschalp, where the hike starts. You hike to the charming Täschhütte, located at 2701 meters above sea level. Once we get to the hut, we will do some briefing and exercises to prepare for the ascent on the next day. Dinner and night at the hut.
Technical information: 2h walking - 500m ascent
Sunday
After an early energising breakfast at the hut, you start the ascent of the Alphubel (4206m) on the South-East ridge. Return to the hut for lunch and descent to Täschalp. Shuttle from Täschalp to Täsch.
