Into The Wild Weekend - Bushcraft Skills
Spend a weekend immersed in the wild landscapes of the Jura, learning practical bushcraft and survival skills alongside Luca Durante and Mathieu Frommel. Drawing on their expertise in archaeology, indigenous communities and traditional ways of life, survival techniques, and wild animals, they guide you through fire-making, shelter building, and life in nature. A hands-on experience focused on autonomy, simplicity, and connection to the natural world.
Meet Luca and Mathieu in Le Brassus on Saturday at 10:30. From there, you’ll have a short shuttle to the start of the walk, and walk together to your camp. This short approach is an introduction to the landscape and atmosphere that will be your home for the weekend.
Once you arrive, you’ll be introduced to the camp and its equipment, giving you time to settle into the woodland environment. The next two days are dedicated to learning essential skills for living in and with nature. On Saturday, you’ll learn how to make fire using friction and build your own shelter for the night, or igloos, if snow conditions allow. You’ll then spend the night in your self-built shelter or igloo, after sharing a warm and convivial dinner around the campfire.
On Sunday morning, after breakfast, you can practice making fire, learn how to make rope, or just enjoy the simple pleasure of unhurried time spent in the woods.
